Resources FAQ

Which document, and when?

Which document should a homeowner start with?
Start with the Homeowner's Buyer's Guide — it's plain-English and covers what spray cork is, what it costs, how it compares to EWI, render and paint, and what to ask any installer. Once you've read that, the Technical Data Sheet answers the detail questions (fire rating, breathability, warranty terms).
What's in the SprayCork solid-wall performance report?
It's an independent case study of SprayCork on 1930s solid brick and 1920s solid stone properties. Headline results: U-value reduced from 1.06 to 0.72 W/m²K (-32%) on solid brick, from 1.45 to 1.22 W/m²K (-24%) on solid stone, whole-building air permeability down 32%, and time-to-lose-1°C improved by 61.7%.
Is the technical data sheet suitable for architect specifications?
Yes. The Technical Data Sheet and Product Manual together contain everything a specifier needs: thermal conductivity, fire rating (Class A2-s1, d0 to EN 13501-1), vapour permeability class, acoustic performance, substrate compatibility, application thicknesses, drying and curing schedules, and manufacturer warranty terms.
Are the U-value reports independently measured?
Yes. Both the pre- and post-application U-value reports for Church House, London are Heat3D in-situ measurements using calibrated heat-flux plates and FLIR thermal imaging, carried out by a third-party building performance consultant — not modelled figures.
Can I share these PDFs with my builder or conservation officer?
Please do. All documents are the original manufacturer files from CorkSol UK and are freely shareable. Conservation officers and building control regularly ask for the Technical Data Sheet and the fire rating certificate, both of which are included here.
Do you have a printed information pack?
Yes — we'll post a printed pack with samples of the finish, colour swatches and the buyer's guide on request. Contact us via the quote form or the contact page and we'll get it out the same working day.
