FAQ

Spray cork,
answered.

How much does spray cork cost in the UK?
For exterior wall coatings, expect around £55–£90 per m² fully installed — about a third of the cost of external wall insulation (EWI). Interior coatings typically run £45–£75/m². Use our quote calculator for an indicative price.
How long does spray cork last?
The cork system carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty and is engineered for a 40+ year service life. No repainting required during that time.
Will spray cork cure damp and mould?
Yes, in most cases. Cold internal walls form condensation, which feeds mould. Spray cork raises the wall surface temperature above the dew point and is breathable, so moisture can pass through. The mould then has nothing to grow on.
Can spray cork go over existing render or pebble-dash?
Yes — as long as the existing surface is sound. We pressure-wash, patch hairline cracks, prime, and spray the cork over the top. No need to hack it off.
Do I need planning permission for spray cork?
For most homes, no — it's classed as a redecoration. Listed buildings and properties in conservation areas usually need consent; we can guide you through it.
Is spray cork fire-rated?
Yes — Class A2-s1, d0 to EN 13501-1. Suitable for residential, commercial and industrial use including buildings over 11 m.
What's the difference between spray cork and EWI?
EWI bolts insulation boards to the wall and renders over them — adds 80–120 mm of thickness, needs scaffolding for weeks, and costs £150–£250/m². Spray cork adds <6 mm, is sprayed on, no scaffolding scars, and costs roughly a third. EWI gives a higher U-value uplift; spray cork is the much better value choice for most homes.
How long does installation take?
An average 3-bed semi exterior takes 2–3 days. A conservatory roof, 2 days. A typical interior room, 1 day including prep.
What colours are available?
28 standard CorkSol colours, plus custom colour-matching is available. We'll bring samples to the survey.
Can I paint over it later?
Yes — but most clients don't need to for 25 years. The cork is colour-stable and the finish stays consistent.
