Why cork
One coating. Insulation, weatherproofing, damp control and finish.
Cork is one of the only construction materials that's both genuinely sustainable and high-performance. Sprayed on, it solves several problems at once — without the disruption, scaffolding scars or cost of bolt-on insulation systems.
Carbon-negative material
Cork bark is hand-stripped without felling — and regrowing it stores more CO₂.
Cuts heat loss
0.065 W/mK thermal conductivity reduces fuel bills on solid and poorly-insulated walls.
Breathable & damp-stopping
Vapour-permeable Class 1 — kills condensation without trapping moisture in the wall.
Fire-rated B-s1, d0
Tested to EN 13501 for residential, commercial and high-rise use.
Acoustic absorption
Up to 38 dB reduction — quieter rooms, quieter façades.
25-year warranty
Manufacturer-backed, with a 40+ year service life and no repainting.

What clients say
200+ UK homes insulated, and counting.
“The difference is unreal. Our north-facing wall used to stream with condensation every winter — six months on from the cork coating, it's bone dry. Heating bills are noticeably lower too.”
“We had blown render and damp patches throughout the back of the house. The team prepped, sprayed and were gone in three days. Looks better than the day it was built.”
“Specified SprayCork on a listed cottage where EWI wasn't an option. Breathable, sympathetic finish, and the conservation officer was happy. Will absolutely use again.”

FAQ
Cork insulation, answered.
- Is cork really a good insulation material?
- Yes — cork has a thermal conductivity of around 0.065 W/mK and a naturally cellular structure that traps air. It outperforms most paints and renders for U-value uplift on solid walls, and is breathable so it doesn't trap moisture like foam systems can.
- How much does cork insulation cost per m² in the UK?
- Exterior sprayed cork is typically £55–£90/m² fully installed — roughly a third of the cost of external wall insulation (EWI). Interior coatings run £45–£75/m². Get an indicative price from our quote calculator.
- Is cork insulation actually sustainable?
- Cork is one of very few genuinely carbon-negative building materials. Bark is hand-stripped from the cork oak without felling, regrows naturally, and a harvested tree stores up to 5× more CO₂ than an unharvested one. Cork oak forests absorb around 10 million tonnes of CO₂ each year.
- Will cork insulation stop damp and condensation?
- In most cases, yes. Sprayed cork raises the internal wall surface temperature above the dew point so condensation can't form, and it's vapour-permeable (Class 1) so any moisture passes through rather than getting trapped behind the coating.
- Is cork insulation fire-safe?
- Yes — our SprayCork system is rated B-s1, d0 to EN 13501, suitable for residential, commercial and industrial use including buildings over 11m where compliant.
- How long does cork insulation last?
- The coating carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty and is engineered for a 40+ year service life with no repainting required. Cork is naturally resistant to UV, algae, moss and cracking.
- Can cork insulation be applied over existing render or pebble-dash?
- Yes. Provided the existing substrate is sound, we pressure-wash, repair any defects, prime and spray the cork directly over it — no need to hack the old finish off.
