The challenge
Church House — home of the Church of England and former WWII Parliament chamber — needed a sustainable refurbishment that improved both thermal performance and acoustics in busy meeting and office spaces, without large-scale strip-out of existing finishes.
Our solution
CorkSol managed application of SprayCork across walls and ceilings on a multi-phase, multi-level programme, finished with a breathable spray-applied plaster. The system was applied over the existing substrate — saving demolition cost and dramatically reducing waste to landfill.
Results
- Combined thermal and acoustic upgrade in one sprayed system
- Applied over existing substrates — significant waste reduction vs strip-out
- Sustainable, natural cork finish specified by lead architect ScottWhitbyStudio
- Delivered in phases around live operations in a heritage building
"We were really lucky to find CorkSol — this incredible company that's doing something really innovative in the UK for the first time. It's been a great pleasure to work with them. The future is super bright for this product."
