Eco Surface Solutions

Architect & specification hub

Everything a specifier needs to write sprayed cork into the next project.

NBS clauses, BBA certification, EN 13501 fire performance, vapour-permeability and thermal data, CAD details, RIBA-aligned CPD and full RIBA Stage 2–5 support. Ready to drop straight into your specification.

What's in the pack

A specification pack written for specifiers, not marketers.

Draft NBS Chorus and Source clauses for both external and internal cork systems. BBA Agrément certification. EN 13501 reaction-to-fire test results (Class B-s1, d0). Thermal conductivity, vapour permeability, water absorption, adhesion and accelerated-weathering data. DWG and PDF standard details covering reveals, sills, parapets and movement joints.

Bespoke details prepared free for any live project — typically returned within 48 hours. Site-specific mock-ups and substrate trials available on request, particularly useful where the building has mixed substrates or a complex façade history.

RIBA Plan of Work support

We turn up across Stages 2 to 5 — not just the install.

Stage 2–3: feasibility, substrate appraisal, embodied-carbon comparison against EWI/IWI alternatives, early-stage cost benchmarking.

Stage 4: detailed NBS specification, bespoke CAD detailing, performance specification clauses, contractor approval process.

Stage 5: site mock-ups, installer pre-qualification, programme advice, site supervision attendance, snagging and PC sign-off.

Specifier FAQs

The questions architects and specifiers ask.

What NBS specification clauses are available?
We provide draft NBS clauses for both the external coating system and the internal IWI variant, written to plug into NBS Chorus or Source. Includes substrate preparation, primer, two-coat sprayed cork application, mesh reinforcement where applicable, and decorative top-coat options.
What certification and test data do you supply?
BBA certification, fire performance to EN 13501-1 (rated B-s1, d0), thermal conductivity (λ ≈ 0.065 W/mK), vapour permeability (Class 1, μ < 5), water absorption (W3), adhesion test data, and accelerated weathering / UV stability results. Full data pack available on request.
Do you provide CAD details and section drawings?
Yes — DWG and PDF standard details covering wall build-ups, window reveal returns, sill and head detailing, parapet terminations, junctions with EWI and IWI systems, and movement-joint detailing. Bespoke details prepared on request for specific projects.
Can you support the project from RIBA Stage 2 through 5?
Yes. Early-stage feasibility and substrate appraisal (RIBA 2–3), detailed specification and NBS clauses (Stage 4), site mock-ups, contractor approval and tender support (Stage 4–5), site supervision and CPD for the installing team (Stage 5).
Is there a CPD presentation for architects?
Yes — a RIBA-aligned CPD seminar on breathable thermal coatings, embodied carbon in retrofit, and specification of natural insulation systems. Delivered in-person at your studio or via video conference. Typically 45 minutes plus Q&A.
What's the warranty backing for specified projects?
25-year manufacturer product warranty on the cork system, plus our 10-year workmanship warranty on installation. Insurance-backed and assignable to the building owner on project completion.
